Why is everyone calling this installment of the Bachelorette a success?

I am confused by everyone’s reaction to the latest Bachelorette outcome.  TVGuide refers to it as a success in this article, and in the updates of all the seasons of both the Bachelor and the Bachelorette, this one is listed as a success.  I suppose it is since Deanna is engaged, but how long do these things really last?  They can last forever (literally) in the case of Byron and Mary or less than a week (almost all of the other shows).  I think it’s really nice that Trista and Ryan found one another on a reality dating show, but the odds of something like that happening again are extremely slim!  I’m skeptical of Deanna’s choice, and I don’t really see her with Jesse because she seems too uptight to be with someone who doesn’t have a traditional career.  Also, I am skeptical of Jesse’s intentions.  While he seemed to be very genuine throughout the show, I think he has been on several reality shows before this (on MTV).  You can never trust a former reality star’s intentions on a dating show.

ABC’s new Bachelorette?

There are various reality television websites and other news sources reporting that DeAnna “Are you really going to let me walk out of your life twice?” Pappas, of the most recent Bachelor, is going to be the next Bachelorette.  I tried to confirm at abc.com, but after a quick glance, I didn’t see anything.  These reports are probably correct, but I was hoping that they were a mistake.  Do we really need to see DeAnna blink uncontrollably at 25 different guys?  More than that, do we really need to see more of her forced emotions and rehearsed declarations of love?  How do you feel about DeAnna as the new bachelorette?
