Big Brother 9 will kick off on Tuesday 2/12 on CBS, and tvguide.com has all the scoop. Apparently, there were rigorous compatibility tests done, and each person has a partner in the house who they will play the game with. Partners will share everything, including HOH privileges. This sounds like a slightly more tasteful version of Paradise Hotel at best. I personally don’t need to see any more “showmances” emerge from Big Brother. Last season’s Daniele/Nick showmance was more than I could stomach, and I can’t imagine what 8 different showmances will entail. A quick glance at the cast revealed a paparazzo (seriously?), a bikini barista (what the hell is that?), and someone who is currently biking around the world (how is that an occupation??). The saddest part about all of this–I will probably watch at least one of the thrice weekly episodes. I do, however, promise to never live blog any episode.
