So now we know that Sun is one of the Oceanic 6. I know we were supposed to know who they all are by now, but I am confused. I think I am missing a person. Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sayid, Sun, and ??. Who am I missing? We know it’s not Aaron, so is it the guy whose funeral Jack went to in last season’s finale?
Anyway, there are more important things to focus on from last night’s episode. Before we get to Michael/Kevin Johnson, I want to talk about Jin. Poor, poor Jin! Why did he have to die? Some would argue that since he’s managed to turn his life around (remember the guy he used to be?), his story was complete. I was trying to read his tombstone, but all I could see was 2004. I thought it said September 2004, but this doesn’t make alot of sense to me because in the “The Constant” it was supposed to be Christmas day in 2004. Have only 5 days passed? Did Jin die before they could be rescued and that’s why it says September (in keeping with the story that there were only 6 survivors on Oceanic Flight 815)? I think my head is spinning. I really liked that they played Sun’s flashforward and Jin’s flashback simultaneously and waited until the end to let us know that Jin had died. The whole night, I kept thinking that Jin was trying to get to the hospital to see Sun. I had no idea that it was a flashback to only two months after he and Sun got married!
So that’s where Michael went! This is confusing to me because the “others” took Michael and Walt away on a boat (we were led to believe off the island) at the end of Season 2, but then he turns up as (presumably) Ben’s inside man on the freighter that is owned and operated by the ominpresent Charles Widmore. WHAT? How did Ben manage to secure a spy on a freighter owned by a man after him? Ben: 15,000,000 Charles Widmore: 0
Just what does Ben have to do with finding over 300 dead bodies necessary to properly stage the wreckage of Oceanic 815? I have no idea, but all I could think was that in a way, the freighter was “Penny’s Boat” by extension. I am desperate to make sense of everything that happened last night. So, in keeping with my weekly ritual, I will consult Doc Jensen and Vozzek69.

I read on EW that the date on Jin’s tombstone was the date their plane crashed, so i’m guessing that means he doesn’t make it off the island. Maybe there’s still hope though…it could be that there was only one seat left on the helicopter so Sun got on. The rest of the survivors may not be dead so much as not rescued yet. Maybe for some reason they couldn’t find the island again so they are just pretending everyone else is dead for some unknown reason.
